What Is Roller Derby?
Most will have never heard of it. Many who have heard of them do not know, really, what exactly is it and those who know it, love it. At least that’s been my experience so far. One thing is certain : Roller Derby promotes GIRL POWER!
The Roller Derby has been a slow sport to develop. Originally played on an oval race track two teams for so long in a circle on her roller skates, until a team was no longer on the field. Mid-thirties of the 20thCentury, two men sat down together to create new rules for the sport. Damon Runyon and Leo Seltzer now set to land wrangles and shove, since such attacks Rempel was very well received by the audience. Quickly enjoyed great popularity of the sport, but slowly ebbed and the joy up to the 70s roller derby disappeared from the halls.

The equipment
Each player wears roller skates, not the more modern inline skates, but the classic roller skates with two wheels in front and two behind. Knees, elbows and wrists are protected with armor. Also, the head must be covered with a matching helmet and mouth is a mouth guard. There is also a toe guard to protect against wear the roller skates.
The rules (according to the most frequently played WFTDA)
A game called Bout. A bout consists of two halves with as many laps as possible. One round (Jam) going here more than two minutes.
Pro Team here are five players on the field. Four women and one Jammerin blockers. All interior blockers together (ie by both teams) call themselves pack.
First of all start-blocker inside, and shortly thereafter the inner misery. The aim of the inner misery is to overtake the pack. For the first round over, there are no points here only determines which of the two inner distress has the right to end the jam before the two minutes. For example, to prevent the opponent from gaining more points.
Once the pack has overtaken the first time, it’s about to earn points. Pro lapped Blockerin from the opposing team, there is a point. But only if the rounding took place over properly, that is, with no rule violations. The interior blockers are responsible to bring their own Jammerin as unscathed as possible through the pack and trying to prevent the opponent on the way through.
For major fouls, the player must directly for a minute on the penalty bench, just as in four minor fouls. After more than two minutes will be replaced, and starts the next round.
